Kratz Also Up to AAA!

Erik_kratz_syracuse_headshotThe Toronto Blue Jays have promoted Erik Kratz (Waynesboro 2000, Harrisonburg 2001) to Triple-A Syracuse.  Kratz got off to an excellent start at Double-A New Hampshire, hitting 333/387/519 after 27 at-bats (tiny sample size, I know).  At Syracuse so far, Kratz is hitting 200/200/200 after 10 at-bats (an even smaller sample size).

He is, ostensibly, the backup to Curtis Thigpen, who was a 2nd round pick in 2004.  However, Kratz is significantly better behind the plate than Thigpen, as this post on a Hardball Times study shows.  Of course, I AM biased; my interview with Kratz is posted
here and here.

Good luck, Erik- one step away!
