#3 Reliever: Garrett Parker
While Garrett Parker threw "only" 21 1/3 innings, he was still clearly one of the top three relievers in the league. Parker, a junior at Oklahoma City, was phenomenal as the last arm in the Harrisonburg Turks' bullpen. He finished the season 2-1, 0.84, with 8 saves, a 1.03 WHIP, 4.6 BB/9, 11.8 K/9, and .151 opponent's batting average.
Parker gave up not one single run, earned or unearned, until the 7th inning of August 1st, in game 2 of the first round of the playoffs against Covington. In his three innings of work that night, he gave up 2 hits, 2 walks, and four runs (only 2 earned). (I should add that he struck out 5 batters as well.) Take away that blip, and Garrett went 2-0, 0.00, with a 0.98 WHIP. Yes, he actually threw 18 1/3 scoreless innings in the regular season. That's about as good as it gets.
Garrett went 3-1, 4.57, with 2 saves in his sophomore season at Howard. He spent his freshman year at Lon Morris in Texas. He will undoubtedly help Oklahoma City continue its domination in NAIA baseball, following the footsteps of other standout Turks such as Bobby Spain, David Dennis, and Patrick Norris.
