#4 Reliever: Donald Jordat
Donald Jordat, a sophomore at Miami-Dade Community College, is our 4th best reliever in the 2007 Valley League season. Jordat was a huge arm out of the Luray Wrangler's bullpen, as he went 1-1, 2.54, with 3 saves, a 1.06 WHIP, 4.5 BB/9, and 13.0 K/9 in 28 1/3 innings. His opponent's batting average was a minuscule .157.
As a freshman at Miami-Dade in 2007, Jordat went 4-2, 1.62, with 4 saves in 33 1/3 innings. He won Dade's "Fireman Award."
He throws a fastball, slider, change, and split finger. Donald will either be drafted after this college season, or transfer to a four-year college for his junior year. With his live arm, I would expect him to get some attention this June in the draft.
Overall, the picture is becoming more clear, isn't it? Luray had, in my opinion, the best two starters in the league (Umberger and Gilliam), and two of the top five relievers (Jordat and Gutierrez). No wonder they played into the championship series!
