John Sickels, well known in the prospect community for his prospect handbooks, also writes a blog. A few weeks ago, he focused on a former Valley Leaguer, Kevin Kouzmanoff (Winchester 02). Sickels covers each year Kouz spent in the minors- it makes for a good read. Sickels thinks that if Kouz can regain some plate discipline, that he might have a career year in 2009. Let's hope so!
I would recommend staying away from the discussion thread- it gets a bit ugly. And exasperating. (OF course, you're going to go check it out, aren't you? Maybe I should have kept quiet.)
John,
Did you read that all the way down? I normally don't have an interest in reading that many comments back and fourth but I must say, that can't be healthy for those guys! I wish that one of them had gotten around to mention that San Diego this season didn't offer Kooz a great deal of protection...

Jerry, yes, I read it- most of it, anyway. Honestly, message boards can be a form public "drunkenness"- people write things that they would NEVER say to someone face-to-face. And honestly, quibbling about whether or not Kooz was hurt by his home park doesn't have a high level of importance (to me, anyway). We can look at these things, maybe draw some conclusions, but argue to the point of calling names and being rude? No thanks. JLL

I couldn't agree more! The more of those types of conversations that I see make wonder...
